Suzanne Bennett: Finding Solutions for Families in Transition
Suzanne Bennett’s experience in business and finance is as varied as it is extensive. After graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Mississippi, Suzanne worked in retail, owning her own business, sales and later law firm administration. It was during her own personal divorce experience, while working as an accountant for a large law firm in St. Louis, that Suzanne decided to take the CPA examination. After successfully completing the exam, she moved to Wisconsin to work for DeanCare HMO, and was shortly promoted to Controller for the Plan. After 3 years, Suzanne was recruited by Orlando Regional Health Systems to head up the financial group for their own HMO, Community HealthCare Systems, Inc. Serving as CFO, Suzanne successfully ushered the plan through an exit strategy and then moved on to become Managing Director for the American Automobile Association’s National Office in Orlando. In addition to guiding the accounting operations for this large organization she was given responsibility for the facilities management, purchasing operations, and conference services during her tenure.
Suzanne remained with AAA for 16 years, during which time she received her Master’s in Business Administration with honors from the University of South Florida, before deciding to leave the corporate environment. She did so with a goal of utilizing her skills to help others on a more personal level. After becoming a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator, Suzanne realized that she could best help others by lending her financial expertise to the divorce process. With that in mind, Suzanne undertook and successfully completed the rigorous 4-phase testing process to become a Certified Divorce Financial Analystä.
